Nyana Nyana as one of 5 Singapore designers to exhibit at Earthshot challenge

Really grateful to God to have a chance to be a part of this amazing global climate change competition, established by Prince William and the Royal Foundation, and held in Singapore this year.

We have 2 days of exhibition in the Green Carpet at @mediacorp and at the @gardensbythebay

Curated by @sgfashioncouncil, 5 designers and students showcasing sustainable design inspired by and reflecting each of the Earthshot challenges.

Ours were "Revive Our Oceans" and we featured Natural dye, low energy handcraft pattern making, and upcycling pre-consumer waste (end-of-rolls and fabric remnants) to create "Blue Ocean Chic" where our hope that we as a stewards of the earth, can bring back the blue color of the ocean that God created.
Working with jewelry designer @helena_gilmour from @studs.stones really complete our showcase, where she uses imperfect pearls and fabric remnants into a lovely show-piece necklace.

Featured in Tatler Asia

From the article:
“Organic is akin to harmony with nature,” shares Dharmayanti as she explores how organic production benefits both human and planet health. Using traditional techniques such as batik, low-tech methods of hand-painting, hand-dyeing and using non-toxic dyes made from plants and textiles, Nyana Nyana educates its customers on a simple fact—artisan equals sustainable.

Collaboration with Max tan

Initiated by Orchard Retail Showcase (DORS), Nyana Nyana had the privilige to collaborate with Max Tan @maxtanstudio in developing a capsule collection that reflects both of our design visions.

The approach to the capsule collection stems from two very functional perspectives – to create a very small capsule of pieces that can mix and match to form different looks and make pieces that are inspired and designed with the tropical dressing in mind.

We were also mindful to present shibori in a graphic modern light – that it can be worked into fabrics such as denim and lace.

Special Thanks to @sabrinasikora for the amazing  photos.
